File sharing not working in Windows XP


When sharing files in Windows XP, sometimes this message appears and file sharing is not possible.

"You do not appear to have permission to use this network resource. Please check with the administrator of this server to ensure you have access.

Logon Failed : The user is not granted the requested logon type on this computer.

Reason and solution

This is because, if two Internet connections are directly connected to one network, the computer after one will block the user's right to prevent the other computer from accessing it.

The workgroup of the computer you want to share must have the same name,

Control Panel-Administrative Tools-Local Security Policy (Settings)-Local Policy-User Rights Assignment-Access this computer from the network-Add user or group-Advanced-Find now-administrator Click Add-Guest-everyone.
